Over My Grave Pray over my grave
with your selfish wishes
and careful plans
with treachery clasped tight
between your hands
and remember my name
if you think you can.
Mourn over my grave
with your platitudes
and sad excuses
with your questioning
of what the truth is
and hang me from
your angels' nooses.
Walk over my grave
with your shiny shoes
and heavy feet
without another
word to speak
and never mind
what I might think.
Over my grave
you will not honor me.
Over my grave
you'll find no sympathy.
Over my grave
you only come to serve yourself
because you can't put me behind.
